WHAT IS IMSSBN?
Imo State Social Benefit Number (IMSSBN) is a unique number given to all eligible citizens and residents of Imo State including corporate bodies.
WHY OBTAIN IMSSBN?
IMSSBN reduces the burden of PAYE & Direct Assessment filing, tax payments, vehicle and drivers’ licenses renewals, land transactions, contract execution, adequate planning and allocation of resources by government.
WHO SHOULD OBTAIN IMSSBN?
IMSSBN is for all individuals, corporate bodies and entities residing in Imo State. Every employer is mandated to obtain an IMSSBN for the entity while ensuring their employees do likewise.
Corporate registration would require:
A copy of certificate of incorporation (CAC)
Active e-mail address
Phone number
Individual registration would require:
A valid means of identification: National Identification Number-NIN (compulsory), Drivers’ License, International Passport, voter’s card
Bank Verification Number (BVN)
Valid e-mail address
Phone number
HOW AND WHERE CAN I OBTAIN MY IMSSBN?
On-Site
Walk into any of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) offices in the 27 Local Government Areas or the Headquarters at No. 76 Okigwe Road Owerri, Imo State
Ask for the Taxpayers’ Services Department
Fill the IMSSBN form
You will be enrolled by a Tax Officer
Have your biometrics taken
Receive your unique IMSSBN
