The Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) has shown it’s willingness to collaborate with the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for safe and steady growth of the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The Acting Executive Chairman, Mr. Justice R Okoye made this known while on a courtesy visit to the Imo State Commandant, Matthew Sunday Ovye at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Owerri.
He thanked the State Commandant and his team for the warm welcome stating that the NSCDC is a strong ally in the business of tax administration and added that the visit is to strengthen ties with the agency for optimisation of IGR in Imo State.
In his response, the State Commandant appreciated the visit and congratulated the Chairman on his re-appointment, stressing that His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor appoints those who are capable and qualified.
He said that IIRS as an agency is a critical asset to Imo State as well as Nigeria and assured the Chairman that NSCDC Imo Chapter will leave no stone unturned to ensure the Service gets the necessary assistance it needs on order to maintain peace and grow the IGR of Imo State.
