IIRS SEEKS CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH IMO MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

The Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice R Okoye has paid a courtesy visit to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Cyprian OC Akaolisa.

The Chairman praised the Attorney General for his contribution as regards legal matters in the State and raised challenges in compliance to tax laws. He requested for a report on IIRS-related cases and sought closer collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, particularly as the IIRS rolls out its new tax management system.

The Attorney General thanked the Chairman and acknowledged the collaboration between the Service and Equity Chambers, the legal firm representing IIRS. He added that the synergy should be reviewed and enhanced for effective processing of legal matters.
