The Acting Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice Okoye, met with the Imo State Chapter of the Emblem Dealers Association, led by Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Nwosu, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the IIRS Head Office.
The meeting focused on the development of a harmonized state emblem that would gain widespread acceptance across all states. Mr. Okoye emphasized that this emblem will serve as a comprehensive all in one document, featuring embedded security measures for verification and authentication.
Mr. Nwosu expressed the association’s willingness to collaborate with IIRS but recommended that the Service engage with representatives from other states to ensure national compliance. He also highlighted the importance of public awareness and sensitization regarding the new proposed emblem.
Furthermore, Mr. Okoye reiterated that the emblem will be offered at a unified selling price to ensure proper uniformity.
