The Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice Okoye (FCA), hosted the General Manager of the Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), Hon. Emeka A. Anyaehie, and his team during a courtesy visit to the IIRS headquarters.
Welcoming the ENTRACO manager and his team, Mr. Okoye reaffirmed his commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that will enhance revenue generation and governance in Imo State. He commended Hon. Anyaehie for the notable progress achieved within his short time in office, emphasizing the need for greater synergy between both agencies.
Highlighting IIRS’s continuous drive for innovation, Mr. Okoye announced the deployment of the Revenue Management Solution (RMS), a cutting-edge technology designed to streamline tax remittance and improve revenue collection efficiency across the state. He encouraged ENTRACO to integrate the system into their operations, assuring them that IIRS would provide the necessary training and support.
Hon. Anyaehie acknowledged the visionary leadership of the IIRS Chairman, particularly in leveraging technology for financial efficiency. He also stressed ENTRACO’s role in maintaining environmental order through: Proper vehicle parking enforcement, Elimination of illegal structures and obstructions, Pest control and pollution surveillance, Sanitation and sewage fee collection, Comprehensive traffic management and offender penalization.
Furthermore, Hon. Anyaehie revealed that efforts are underway to digitize ENTRACO’s staff records to eliminate impersonation and enhance operational transparency.
Mr. Okoye reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting ENTRACO, emphasizing that a well-structured revenue system is vital for the state’s economic development. He assured the ENTRACO team of IIRS’s full cooperation in fostering an improved, technology-driven revenue framework that will benefit both agencies and the people of Imo State.
