The Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice Okoye (FCA), alongside a team of IIRS staff, paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of Airboil Company Limited, Mr. Stephen Aribeana, on Thursday, 5th May 2025.
During the visit, the IIRS Chairman commended Mr. Aribeana for his outstanding contributions to revenue growth in Imo State and the administration of the 3R Government. He particularly lauded Airboil Company Limited’s commitment to voluntary tax compliance, especially the significant remittance of Withholding Tax to the State Government.
Mr. Okoye expressed satisfaction with Mr. Aribeana’s patriotic act, describing it as a reflection of integrity, dedication, and civic responsibility in line with the provisions of the tax law. He emphasized the importance of taxpayers recognizing their obligations to their state of origin, especially in the remittance of taxes due to the Imo State Government.
The IIRS Chairman praised Mr. Aribeana’s exemplary gesture, describing it as a step in the right direction, and encouraged other taxpayers to emulate his efforts for the betterment of Imo State.
As part of the visit, an official Letter of Appreciation was presented to Mr. Aribeana by the IIRS Chairman, Mr. Okoye, in recognition of his commitment to enhancing revenue growth through full tax compliance.
In response, Mr. Aribeana expressed delight over the Chairman’s visit, noting that Mr. Okoye was the first government official to personally visit his business premises. He extended his gratitude to the Imo State Government for improving infrastructure, particularly road networks and promoting business activities in the area, which have contributed to rapid local development.
The IIRS Chairman, in turn, appreciated the warm hospitality extended by Mr. Aribeana and encouraged him to maintain his tax-compliant status. He also assured him of continued support and collaboration from the Imo State Internal Revenue Service.
