Sequel to the deployment of a robust Revenue Management System (RMS) by the Imo State Government, a training session was organized for revenue agents of the various Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State on the sale and issuance of daily tickets, market tolls and general collection of revenue through the RMS.
The RMS with cutting edge features will revolutionize the collection processes in Imo State and provide seamless and efficient revenue administration.
Through the initiative of the Executive Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the new RMS will drastically reduce revenue leakages, provide visibility and transparency as well as increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.
Speaking at the event held at ICAPS, the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice Remijus Okoye, thanked and appreciated the agents for their willingness to work for the government and notified them that the introduction of e-tickets will eliminate manual process of paper tickets sales and issuance.
He further reiterated that anyone selling and issuing paper tickets will be apprehended by the appropriate authorities and dealt with accordingly.
The approved agents were enrolled on the E-ticketing platform, taught how to fund their wallet and sell the electronic tickets.
The participants left with adequate knowledge on the use of the RMS for e-ticket sales and issuance.
