IMOVREG RAISES IMO STATE INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE (IGR) ON MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATION BY 646%

On 24th October, 2022, the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) launched her proprietary Motor Licensing Administration (MLA) platform – IMO Vehicle Registration (IMOVREG).

The platform which is the first of its kind in the South East region has enabled seamless processes in the registration and renewal of vehicle particulars, with over 51,247 vehicles registered successfully on the platform between October, 2022 and December, 2023.

The Vehicle Registration platform which is the intellectual property of the IIRS and by default the Imo State Government, includes a unique document verification system which has enhanced the detection of fake/forged vehicle particulars in Imo State.

IMOVREG’s success is evident in the revenue generated from MLA activities which was NIL as at September 2022 due to several challenges with 3rd party platforms, to a growth rate of approximately 646%.

The Renewed IIRS remains committed to ensuring that its operations mirror best practice in taxation and innovation, and equally uses this medium to encourage registered motorists to engage and benefit from the distinct features of the IMOVREG platform for seamless motor licensing and registration activities.
