The Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) has recognized the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) as the best-performing Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) in revenue generation for February 2025. The announcement was made during an appreciation meeting held between IIRS and OCDA general manager and his team.
Presenting a letter of appreciation to OCDA’s General Manager, Hon. Franklin Nkem Nzewodo, IIRS Chairman, Mr. Justice Okoye, commended the agency for its proactive adoption of the newly deployed Revenue Management System (RMS). He noted that OCDA’s efficient use of the system had significantly boosted the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), setting a standard for other MDAs.
In response, Hon. Nzewodo expressed his gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a milestone achievement that further motivates his team to sustain and enhance revenue collection efforts. He emphasized the importance of innovation and digital transformation in improving financial administration.
Mr. Okoye concluded by urging other MDAs to integrate the RMS into their operations, highlighting its role in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and overall revenue growth for Imo State.
This recognition marks a significant step in the state’s efforts to modernize revenue management and strengthen financial sustainability.
