IMO STATE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AND FIRS IMO STATE COLLABORATE FOR INCREASE IN REVENUE GENERATION

A team from the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), led by the Chairman, Mr Justice Remijus Okoye embarked on a courtesy visit to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Owerri on Friday, 28th February 2025. They were warmly received by Mr. Michael Egbuzobi, a Director and State Coordinator (FIRS) Imo State and other officials of the Service.

IIRS Chairman appreciated the Director for his remarkable achievements, informing the FIRS officials present at the meeting that a newly deployed cutting edge Revenue management System (RMS) has been launched and will enhance the collection of revenue in the State which is a remarkable feat in the state.

Mr Micheal Egbuzobi was impressed with the newly innovative technology, as he emphasized the need for IIRS staff to consistently undergo trainings by the FIRS on tax processes.
The Director assured the Chairman of the willingness of FIRS to collaborate with IIRS effectively by sharing relevant information to aid IIRS on database of existing taxpayers.

Mr Justice, thanked the FIRS officials for the synergistic collaboration as he noted that the FIRS and IIRS are similar as they both work together for revenue generation at their different levels.
