The Imo State Internal Revenue Service in a significant move to improve service delivery and boost revenue in Imo State, the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), under the leadership of Executive Chairman Justice Okoye, welcomed a delegation from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The meeting reaffirmed a renewed spirit of collaboration between the two agencies, with a shared goal of making road documentation smoother and ensuring better compliance among road users.
The FRSC team, led by Sector Commander CC Udensi Oji, commended the IIRS for the supportive environment provided for FRSC officers operating within the Revenue House. He expressed optimism about deeper cooperation going forward.
Discussions centered around key issues affecting service delivery, including challenges with capturing centers and efforts to reduce the prevalence of unclaimed driver’s licenses. A positive development was the announcement that a new capturing center is being planned.
Chairman Okoye highlighted the need for stronger enforcement mechanisms and praised FRSC officers for their commitment, noting that their efforts have significantly reduced incidents of fake number plates across the state.
In a show of appreciation, FRSC officials proposed that Justice Okoye be honored as a Special Marshal, citing his unwavering support and dedication to road safety and compliance.
