The Acting Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) on Thursday 14th November, 2024 Embarked on a work visit to the IIRS office located at Owerri North Local Government Area (LGA). He also used the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Abaronye Lucky M.
Hon. Abaronye warmly received the Chairman and his team while expressing profound gratitude for the visit. He applauded the IIRS staff working at the local government on the mannerism at which they Conduct themselves.
In the same vein Mr. Justice congratulated the Chairman on his election and solicited assistance from him for boost in revenue coming from the LGA.
He however narrated some of the challenges experienced in carrying out operations in the LGA which include power issues and security and added that a Motor Licence Authority (MLA) office would be located within the LGA to create more activities within the LGA and increase revenue from registration and renewal of motor vehicle licences, number plates etc
The IIRS boss explained that the new Revenue Management Solution which has been deployed was designed to make tax payment Faster, Easier and Seamless.
The LGA Chairman promised to look into the challenges raised by the IIRS and also agreed to further Strengthen Collaboration between the IIRS and the LGA.
