As part of activities marking the Imo @50 celebrations, the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) organized a novelty female football match aimed at promoting teamwork, unity, and stronger institutional relationships.
The friendly match was played between the female staff of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service and female bankers across the State. The initiative was designed to foster cordial relationships, encourage collaboration, and enhance productivity and efficiency in revenue generation through improved inter-agency cooperation.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of IIRS, Justice R. Okoye, commended the enthusiastic participation and sportsmanship displayed by members of staff who proudly represented the Service. He appreciated their commitment and highlighted the importance of recreational activities in building morale and strengthening workplace bonds.
The match ended in an exciting 1–1 draw, with both teams demonstrating impressive teamwork and professionalism. The event concluded on a positive note as players from both sides exchanged pleasantries, reflecting the spirit of unity and camaraderie that the game was intended to promote.
